From June 27th to July 1st, 2024, the Tuberculosis Academic Conference 2024 of the Chinese Medical Association was held in Chongqing. With the theme "Seizing New Opportunities, Creating New Prospects," the conference attracted over 1000 participants, including domestic and international academicians, experts, and industry professionals, to discuss the latest advancements in tuberculosis prevention and treatment. As an innovative pharmaceutical company in the field of drug-resistant tuberculosis treatment, we deeply participated in academic exchanges, with our core products cycloserine capsule and bedaquiline tablet.
Conference Focus: Technological Innovation to Tackle Prevention and Treatment Challenges
The conference featured diverse formats such as plenary reports, youth sessions, and live surgery broadcasts, covering a record-high 464 academic presentations and poster displays. Pan Junhua, Secretary of the Party Committee of Beijing Chest Hospital, emphasized that although the incidence of tuberculosis in China has been steadily declining, challenges such as drug resistance issues and the corresponding system of prevention & treatment still remain, which needs technological innovation and the integration of medical care and prevention to make breakthroughs. Li Liang, Vice President of Beijing Chest Hospital affiliated with Capital Medical University, pointed out that new drugs like Bedaquiline have improved the cure rates for drug-resistant patients, but vigilance is needed against the emergence of new drug-resistant strains. Technologies such as AI-assisted diagnosis and molecular testing via tongue swabs offer new approaches for grassroots-level screening.

Zhongnuo Caring: Supporting Prevention and Treatment with Core Drugs
At this anti-tuberculosis academic conference, we presented two important products. SAITESHUN® Bedaquiline Tablet, belonging to the diarylquinoline class, can inhibit the ATP synthase of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and disrupt its energy supply. Bedaquiline is consistently recommended as a first-choice drug for long-course treatment regimens of MDR-TB or rifampicin-resistant tuberculosis (RR-TB) by domestic and international authoritative guidelines, and it is also a core drug in short-course regimens. DASILIKANG® Cycloserine Capsule works by inhibiting the cell wall synthesis of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. According to the "Clinical Guidelines for Cycloserine in Tuberculosis Treatment (2020 Edition)," Cycloserine is recommended for the treatment of drug-resistant tuberculosis and for cases where effective chemotherapy regimens cannot be formed due to various reasons, such as multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB), extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis (XDR-TB), and drug-resistant tuberculous meningitis.

In the future, we will continue to deepen its research and development of anti-tuberculosis drugs and their clinical applications, leveraging academic innovation and anchoring on patient needs. We will work hand in hand with the medical community to strengthen the defense line of tuberculosis prevention and treatment. We firmly believe that every effort will eventually converge into a powerful force, injecting professional momentum into the vision of accelerating the achievement of the "goal to end the tuberculosis epidemic by 2035" and eliminating the threat of tuberculosis, to make every hope for health be a reality.
